Translation tool

What does it do?


Displays pre-translations of text depending upon which language version of ToonTalk is running. (English, Swedish, and Portuguese are supported - send email to kenkahn@toontalk.com about other languages.)

How do I use it?

The notebook in the fourth hole of the box contains the translations. On the left pages is the name of a language supported by ToonTalk. On the right is the translation for that language.

How does it work?

It uses the built-in language sensor of ToonTalk. If that is showing a different language than that which is currently being displayed it uses the remote control for the looks to update the appearance of the text pad.

What can I use it for?

Documentation that adapts to the local language.

Note that if used in a box that packages up a tool or an application then there is no run-time cost to using this tool. However, if this tool is placed on the back of a picture that is part of a tool or application then there is some cost. If that object is copied many times (e.g. the fish in the fish/whale eco-game) then the cost may be quite high.

This was updated on 16 07 04 because the old version was saved so that when flipped back over it was just a pixel or two in size.
